EMMA was co-founded by Dr. Abdolghader Pakniyat and Dr. Sabrina Berdouk, both board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians and passionate educators. With years of frontline experience in busy emergency departments, they share a commitment to advancing clinical excellence through practical, accessible, and engaging education.

Double Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician (European and Iranian Boards) with RDMS (AB) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and advanced training in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS). Previously served as an Emergency Medicine Consultant and Assistant Professor, integrating clinical practice with education and clinical research. Experienced in using ultrasound daily to manage trauma, shock, and critically ill patients, while training both residents and practicing physicians. Through EM Mastery Academy, I deliver practical, case-based POCUS education tailored to the needs of frontline emergency clinicians.
With over a decade of experience in emergency medicine, I have combined frontline clinical practice with a deep commitment to medical education. As a Canadian Board-Certified Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine Consultant, I hold a Master of Education in the Health Professions (MEHP), which has allowed me to design and deliver innovative training programs. My work focuses on developing Emergency Departments and Emergency Physicians. I expand on case-based, practical learning that equips both residents and practicing clinicians with the skills and confidence needed in high-pressure environments. Passionate about advancing emergency medicine education, I strive to mentor healthcare professionals, foster collaboration, and drive excellence in patient care.
